“A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. A soul mate’s purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, and make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life.” ~Elizabeth Gilbert

flipping myself out of my crib because i was sick of being immobile.
I just read this girl’s tumblr.
She was not a healthy girl.
She had decided to go on countless starvation diets to try to get so skinny that her hipbones would protrude like knives and her ribs and collarbone would be sharp. Yet she was never really fat in the first place.
It’s this stuff that breaks my heart about girls today. We’re under so much pressure to be perfect and skinny. It’s like “normal” doesn’t exist anymore; either you’re considered fat, or you’re grotesquely small. And sometimes it’s so much that we just give in, because it feels like we have no choice.
But here’s the thing: starving yourself is going to eventually kill you. It might not kill you in a few years. But when you’re in your fifties and sixties, you’ll be at risk for health problems that would not exist if you had eaten like a normal human being.
I’m sorry that the world is like this. Skin-and-bones skinny is not pretty; it’s disgusting. Too skinny is just as repulsive as too fat. But so many girls are trying to get there. And when they get there, what will be their reward? What will be their congratulations? Death. Not self confidence, not a bunch of admirers…just nothing.
It’s healthy to have skin on your body. If every woman was as skinny as the mannequins in store windows, we would not be able to have kids. Because no one would have periods.
And so if you’re reading this and you know someone with an eating disorder, tell them that they’re beautiful. Because they almost postively are, just the way they were made to be.
Repress and restrain Steal the pressure and the pain Wash the blood off your hands This time she won't understand Change in the air And they'll hide everywhere No one knows who's in control You're working so hard And you're never in charge Your death creates success Rebuild and suppress Change in the air And they'll hide everywhere No one knows who's in control Change in the air And they'll hide everywhere And no one knows who's in control

toujourspur | copycats | Sufjan Stevens vs. Coldplay - Chicago / Clocks by smrq:
A mashup of Sufjan Stevens’ “Chicago” and Coldplay’s “Clocks”. Well, not exactly a mashup— it’s literally the two tracks layered over each other, with minimal alterations (key, tempo). Be warned: I can’t listen to the originals anymore; they sound too empty. They are half-songs. (That’s a joke.)
